There is a fee involved in the contractor partnership. The exact structure will be discussed with you individually before you commit to anything — we do not charge surprise fees.

Common Questions
Do I need to be licensed and insured?
We strongly encourage all contractors in our network to carry appropriate licensing and insurance for their trade. We'll ask about this during our follow-up conversation.
How much does it cost to join?
There is a fee, but the structure is discussed individually before anything is agreed. We'll walk you through it during our follow-up.
What areas do you cover?
We focus on Northwest Illinois — Carroll County and surrounding communities. If you're within roughly an hour of the area, we'd like to hear from you.
What trades are you looking for?
General contractors, plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC, painters, landscapers, and more.
Are leads guaranteed?
No. We connect contractors with homeowners who have submitted project requests, but we cannot guarantee the volume or frequency of inquiries. Availability depends on homeowner demand in your trade and area.
Contractors who participate in the BuildLocal NWIL network are responsible for maintaining all licenses, insurance, permits, registrations, and other requirements applicable to their trade and location. BuildLocal NWIL connects contractors with homeowner project requests but does not perform, supervise, or guarantee any construction work. All agreements, pricing, and arrangements are made directly between the contractor and the homeowner.
